– Dinosaurs set to take over Weymouth with Dino Run, animatronic dinosaur shows, fossil displays and much more –

Get ready to dig up some fun this half term as the much-loved “Chase the Dinosaur” event launches Dino –week this February half term.  Returning to Weymouth Beach on Saturday, 15th February 2025, Chase the Dinosaur is loved by families, fitness enthusiasts and dinosaur lovers alike!  This unique event raises money for a fantastic local cause, the Will Mackaness Trust and has races for all ages and abilities.

If a beach full of dinosaurs wasn’t enough, Weymouth Town Centre welcomes raptors and rangers for 3 shows throughout the day.  With large animatronic dinosaurs to baby dinos, fossil displays and much more, it’s a great FREE TO ATTEND day out for the whole family.

Dawn Rondeau-Irvine, Chief Operations Officer at We Are Weymouth (Weymouth’s Business Improvement District) comments: “We’re thrilled once again to be celebrating not only Dorset’s incredible Jurassic past but also our town’s love for fancy dress!  Chase the Dinosaur was such a success last year that we anticipate much bigger numbers in this our second year. It’s an incredible sight to see dinosaurs on the beach once again.  We encourage runners of all ages to come and enjoy a run on the beach – the wilder the costume the better!  Once the run concludes there’s nothing better than heading into town and interacting with the life-sized dinosaurs and their rangers as well as enjoying a hot chocolate, pint of beer or delicious meal to celebrate.”
