Christmas is just around the corner and what better way to get into the festive spirit than following the nativity throughout the town. Over the weekend of 9th and 10th December, the Weymouth churches will come together to host scenes from the nativity story, a beautiful and interactive way to hear the Christmas story. This festive event will culminate with carols around the Christmas tree in Millenium Square, supported by the Salvation Army Band.
The weekend of the 15th – 17th December is all about Santa! Friday Night will commence with Santa Claus the party and then the following morning, families can visit the town where letters written throughout the month will be collected by Father Christmas himself and taken off to the North Pole. Making a pit-stop in his grotto, children can come and tell Santa whether they’ve been naughty or nice! The weekend will finish with the world famous Pudding Run and Chase the Elf on Weymouth Beach, hundreds of Santa’s take part in this festive race, all to raise money for local charities.
As well as festivities on the themed weekends, there are also events that run throughout December which are well worth adding to your calendar.
