Gigantosaurus

Gigantosaurus Information

Gigantosaurus lived around 98 million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous period. That’s long before humans existed—back when the Earth was full of giant dinosaurs! Fossils show that Gigantosaurus lived in what is now South America, mainly in Argentina. Back then, the land looked very different and was warm, lush, and full of other dinosaurs.

It was one of the largest meat‑eating dinosaurs ever, even bigger than a T. rex and its head was filled with large, slicing teeth! Gigantosaurus feet were so massive that its footprints might have been around the size of a car tyre! Imagine stepping into a footprint that deep and giant — like a mini swimming pool!

Despite its huge size, no complete skeleton has ever been found so all the information we know about Gigantosaurus has been made using the bones from different individuals.
