We Are Weymouth (BID) has begun its Christmas campaign in the town of Weymouth by introducing Christmas visuals to enhance the town centre during the festive period.  Installed on vacant units, the graphics add festive charm to the town, with one property being completely transformed into Santa’s Post Office, where families can write and post letters to Santa in time for his Christmas collection.

We Are Weymouth (BID) aims to not only showcase the fantastic festivities in the town, but also highlight the commercial opportunities in the town with the available units, as well as improve the general look and feel of the high street.

Dawn Rondeau, We Are Weymouth (BID) Manager comments: “The way Weymouth looks has been altering for many years, and in particular with COVID, the rise of empty retail units has encouraged us to look at new ways of reimagining our town. Our plan was to create a warm and inviting town centre for the Christmas period with plans for longer term improvements and inward investment.

As we emerged from COVID, The Business Improvement District (BID) wanted to adopt a fresh approach to Weymouth breathing new life back into the town and its streets, through graphic wrapping some of our higher profile business premises whilst delivering new and engaging events; showcasing the town to possible investors, whilst increasing revenue.

We think there are many new opportunities to change the way Weymouth looks and works for the benefit of the businesses and community and look forward to bringing improvements to revitalise Weymouth’s economy.”

The Christmas season from We Are Weymouth (BID) includes a spectacular mix of events throughout the town, sure to draw in crowds:

27th November – Have your-elf a Merry little Christmas!

On 27th November we celebrate the official start of the Christmas season with the lights illumination in Weymouth Town Centre. We are celebrating with street entertainment, as well as an Elf World Record Attempt!  To beat the world record, we need 2,000 ‘elves’ to join us in the Town Centre.  Along with elves, there will be Santa’s sleigh, street performers, an elf post office with direct link to the North Pole and much more.
