Set amid the splendour of Weymouth’s wonderful Esplanade, described as ‘one of the finest marine promenades in the kingdom,’ (Bradshaw’s Guide)
The Leam was built in 1780, originally as a pair of gentlemen’s residences. Sea-bathing became very fashionable in the 1770s after the Duke of Gloucester introduced his brother, King George III, to Weymouth, ‘this delightful watering-place’ – and where the King went, the rest of society followed.
At The Leam we like to offer our guests a choice of rooms to suit every taste and budget.
The Superior Sea View rooms are just that, 8 lovely rooms with spectacular views out over Weymouth Bay to the horizon where sea meets sky.
Our 4 Superior rooms have intriguing views over the rooftops of Weymouth, old and new.
Or you can choose one of our 19 Standard rooms, all with en suite bathrooms, tea and coffee-making facilities and the quirky individual charms of a 234-year-old building.
We have Family rooms to accommodate four and we even welcome well-behaved dogs! …
