    Weymouth History Trail

    In 1571, during the reign of Elizabeth I, the towns of Weymouth and Melcombe Regis, on either side of the River Wey, were united into a single borough. Follow this trail to discover some of the town’s fascinating history including the arrival of the Black Death, its importance as a Georgian resort and its involvement in the D-Day invasion.

    Weymouth Mural Trail

    Weymouth’s Mural Trail is here! A partnership between Weymouth Town Council and We Are Weymouth. Why not go on a journey around Weymouth and see how many striking artworks you can discover? From Overcombe to Lodmoor, to the town centre and South Harbourside, as well as the Nothe Gardens, there are plenty of hidden gems to find. Complete the trail in one go, explore in stages, or do it all over again – it’s up to you!     Weymouth Sculpture Trail

    Following a national open call, six artists (three Dorset based) were selected to create brand new artworks. Inspired by the town’s maritime history and waterside environment, these beautifully crafted works celebrate Weymouth’s rich heritage and highlight some of the challenges of a future by the sea. Created in a range of media including traditional materials and digital augmented reality, there is plenty to inspire and enjoy

    Lodmoor Tree Trail

    Everyone knows trees are amazing: they filter out pollution, provide shade, slow down climate change and provide food and shelter for wildlife. Not to mention supplying us with fruit, nuts and wood. But do you know which tree’s timber is best for making boats? Or what species of tree was spread by squirrels? Or the best tree to plant outside your house to scare off witches?!

    Find out the answers to these questions and many more on the Lodmoor Tree Trail – an easy 45-minute circular walk around the Country Park exploring the trees as you go.
