– We Are Weymouth covers the town in floral decoration –

From hanging baskets overflowing with flowers, to planters of all shapes and sizes, Weymouth is an abundance of colour this summer. We Are Weymouth has worked hard to ensure that these beautiful baskets and boats are evident throughout Weymouth Harbour and Town improving its look and feel.

Planting begins in January, in local nurseries managed by Weymouth Town Council, tended ready for the hanging baskets and ensuring that flowers are in bloom for the summer months. BID levy payers allow the BID to adorn their premises and with over 200 throughout the town these beautiful arrangements improve the experience for visitors and locals to the town centre.

New in 2022, We Are Weymouth and Weymouth Town Council introduced boat planters on the harbourside and by The Palm House. Extending the reach of the floral displays and improving the look and feel of the town has been a key element of We Are Weymouth’s ‘Improve’ mission. These planters have been refreshed for 2023 and are now permanent installations.

Dawn Rondeau, We Are Weymouth’s Chief Operations Officer comments: We Are Weymouth is committed to its role in ‘improving’ the town, whether this is working to remove graffiti, providing hanging baskets or pioneering the Heritage trail and as well as working in partnership with Weymouth Town Council on the Mural Trail. We want to make Weymouth a welcoming and exciting place to visit and we’re very proud of how beautiful these hanging baskets look. Weymouth during these spring and summer months is truly a special place to be and we hope that locals and visitors can see all the work that’s gone into the town and feel as proud as we do.”

After a day wandering through Weymouth, why not stop for dinner in one of the town’s award-winning restaurants or head to one of many live music menus.  Don’t forget a cocktail or glass of wine on the seafront admiring the Bay.
