– We Are Weymouth celebrates #WeyBackWhen campaign with contribution to The Weymouth Museum 2025 pop-up

We Are Weymouth, the town’s Business Improvement District (BID), is pleased to announce that it is providing additional funding to support the continued development of Weymouth Museum’s pop-up offering.

The Weymouth Museum Trust, which operates the museum, has been working to create an engaging, family-friendly pop-up museum in the heart of the town – bringing Weymouth’s rich and varied history to life through exhibitions, interactive displays, and memorable experiences.

This new funding boost of £2k from We Are Weymouth will help expand the pop-up’s reach, enhance visitor engagement, and enable the Trust to share more of Weymouth’s remarkable stories – spanning everything from seaside holidays and royal visits to the town’s role in wartime Britain and beyond.

Dawn Rondeau-Irvine, Chief Operations Officer at We Are Weymouth, says: “We are thrilled to be offering this additional support to the Weymouth Museum Trust. The pop-up museum plays a vital role in showcasing our town’s heritage in a way that’s accessible and exciting for all ages. It aligns perfectly with our ongoing #WeyBackWhen campaign, and we look forward to seeing even more locals and visitors enjoy this vibrant glimpse into our past.”

The funding forms part of We Are Weymouth’s commitment to supporting cultural and historical initiatives that enhance the visitor experience and foster community pride. In line with the town’s “Weymouth Through the Eras” celebrations, the pop-up museum will feature new displays throughout the year, designed to spark nostalgia, curiosity, and connection.

A spokesperson for the Weymouth Museum Trust said:
“We’re incredibly grateful to We Are Weymouth for their continued belief in our mission. This funding enables us to keep telling the fascinating stories of our town in innovative and inclusive ways. Through the pop-up museum, we can reach a wide audience – locals, tourists, families, and history lovers alike – and offer an experience that’s as educational as it is enjoyable. It’s about making history come alive and reminding people just how special Weymouth really is.”
