We Are Weymouth (BID) is excited to support the Wessex Folk Festival once again – 3rd and 4th June 2023. By sponsoring this unique event, We Are Weymouth is ensuring the longevity of of the Festival, whilst protecting Dorset’s rich folk heritage, and bringing visitors and locals into the town also.
Dawn Rondeau, Chief Operations Officer for We Are Weymouth (BID), said: “We are thrilled to support this well-loved event which brings joy to locals and visitors alike and typically boosts the local economy at what is generally a quieter time of year. The Business Improvement District believe in supporting this event because it would not be able to grow without our financial support. It is great to see that the Festival is now returning to its pre-Covid status with many people highly anticipating this celebration of our British heritage.”

The Wessex Folk Festival consists of two stages and morris dancing and street traders along the south side of Weymouth harbour. Merry Hell, Trials of Cato, Reg Meuross and Gaz Brookfield are among the musicians appearing. The festival is free to attend and relies on sponsorship, donations and payments from street traders for its income.
